Welcome to the first of the LMT blogs! Through my blogs you can follow our Story Adventures and find out where we've been, what we did and all the things we discovered week by week!
So what's a Story Adventure? Well each week children are taken on a fast paced, fun packed and fact filled interactive story! These stories are unique cross- curricular adventures written by myself especially for LMT drama sessions. The children help me to tell the story by acting out the characters and even by becoming the places and objects along the way with props and costume. Children are encouraged to participate in discussions and ask questions throughout, extending their understanding of the subject and encouraging independent thinking.
Our Story Adventure theme last term was centred around exploring the lives of significant individuals in the past. Travelling back through time, we met a whole array of characters from a mad young inventor in the story of John Logie Bard to our final story adventure performed to parents called Charlie Dickens Resues Christmas, based around the younger years of Charkes Dickens.
This term our story adventures are two parters exploring what life would have been like for a ten year old throughout history, starting from the Tudors, right up to WW2. How different would life have been? Can we draw any comparisons to our own lives? Each story is set in the same mysterious village, which is visited one summer by a mysterious frog eyed man who by the power of his eyes sends children one by one to a different era in history. They must find out why they have been sent back in time and fast before they find themselves lost in time forever!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
